General Notes: Husband - James Cratty

He came to Muddy Creek township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, from the vicinity of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, early in the 1800s, and settled on land later owned by Joshua McCandless. He was accompanied to this county by his brothers, Robert and Thomas, and sister Rachel. His brothers each selected a tract of 400 acres, on which they settled. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Presbyterian church. He was one of the early assessors and collectors of the township, was a Democrat in early life, and later a Republican. He served in the War of 1812, as a member of Captain Martin's company.

When a young man he and his brothers and sister moved to (then Westmoreland County), now Butler County. He selected a tract of four hundred acres of land, upon which he settled, about two miles southwest of Prospect, in Muddycreek Township. He was one of the early assessors and collectors of the township. He enlisted and served in Captain Martin's Company in the War of 1812. He was a member of the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church at Whitestown.
