He came to Perry township, Perry County, Pennsylvania, from Paxton township, Lancaster (later Dauphin) County, but was originally from Ireland.
In 1785, he bought a farm of one hundred and fifty-five acres, previously owned by a son of John Logan, for which he paid four hundred and ninety pounds.
