General Notes: Husband - James Mc. McCutcheon

In boyhood he attended the public schools of Moon township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, being reared on the home farm. In young manhood he became a miller, exchanging some land of which he had become the owner for a grist mill, which he operated for several years. Selling this mill, with the proceeds from the sale he bought a grocery store, conducting this establishment until the death of his first wife, at which time he had built up a sound and excellent trade in the neighborhood. From the time of the death of his first wife until his second marriage he made his home in Coraopolis with a sister, his death occurring seven years thereafter.

He farmed until 1886, when he purchased a store at Moon, and March 1, 1886, was appointed postmaster.

Some of the dates relating to this man are confused.
He died Feb 18, 1901. [GPHWP, 385]
He died Feb 18, 1909. [SFWP, 51]
He married his second wife Feb 5, 1894. [GPHWP, 385]
He married his second wife Jan 5, 1904. [SFWP, 51] which is obviously impossible if the earlier date of death is correct.
