General Notes: Husband - Hugh Boyd Craig


He attended academies in Shippensburg, Newville and Mercersburg, and taught for several years in the public schools. He was prepared for college at Eldersridge Academy, and was graduated at Jefferson College in 1857. He was an intelligent and successful farmer in Montgomery township, Franklin County, but in 1898 retired and settled in Greencastle. An earnest church worker, he was Sunday-school superintendent and ruling elder in the Welsh Run Presbyterian Church for more than forty years. In politics he was a Republican, and for several years was school director, and he also held other local offices.
