When nineteen years old he came to Venango county, PA, where his parents had lived about three years previous to his coming. After marriage, he and his wife moved to Kansas, where they lived seven years, and returned to Cornplanter township. They first came to Plumer, where they kept the Plumer Hotel for two years.
