General Notes: Husband - Ephraim Coon Wallace

He was born on his father's farm in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and went to Iowa with his father and family. He remained with his father until 1870, when he left the farm and struck out for himself in various lines of business, acting as agent and travelling salesman for different mercantile and manufacturing establishments in Des Moines and other places. Eventually he and his two sons became engaged in Des Moines handling oysters, fish, game, etc., under the style of "The Maryland Packing Company."
