General Notes: Husband - David Johnson


He was the fourth in a family of eight children. He attended school in his native town and in Fallston, PA, and also John English's select school in Beaver. Early in life he entered a saw-mill and worked from 1833 until 1844; then went into a bucket shop at Fallston as foreman and continued until 1866, from which year till 1882 he was foreman for Miner & Co.'s saw­mill at Fallston, and then was elected county commissioner. He was a member of the Republican party beginning at its inception; served as justice of the peace six years, was school director and a member of the council of Fallston. He and his wife were members of the Methodist Episcopal church, of which he was class leader. He was a member of the I. O. O. F., and went through all the chairs, and served as district deputy to the Grand Lodge.
