General Notes: Husband - John Cooper


He followed for a time his father's occupation, farming, later moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and learning the trade of bookbinder, at which he was employed until his premature death at the age of thirty-three years.

He was the pioneer in the book-binding trade (first directory of Pittsburg, 1815), which business was continued by his son-in-law, William S. Haven, and later by William Stevenson.
