General Notes: Husband - Capt. Joseph Van Kirk




He passed his entire life in Amwell township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, on the farm on which he was born.

He acquired his title on account of commanding a militia company in early manhood. He was a prominent man in Washington County for many years, serving as a county commissioner and also as a director of the poor.
