General Notes: Husband - John F. Cooper

He attended the common schools of his township, which were above the average of country schools, in the meantime assisting his father on the farm. In 1881 he was elected register of wills for Washington County, Pennsylvania, and re-elected in 1884, serving two terms. At the expiration of his term of office, in 1888, he returned to the farm, where he remained until January 1, 1891, when he assumed the duties of cashier of the People's Bank of Monongahela City, he having been elected to that position in December, 1890.

He resided with his children on the old homestead farm, which he owned, four miles southwest of Monongahela City, on the Brownsville road in Fallowfield township. The farm comprised 113 acres, and he raised grain and stock. His wife was a member of the M. E. Church, he of the Presbyterian Church.
