He was born in Wales, and located for a time at Bridgewater, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, but later removed to North Sewickley township, where he followed the occupation of farming. Still later he and his wife, who was born in Shousetown, Pennsylvania, of Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry, made their home in West Virginia, where they died.
