General Notes: Husband - James Ross Porter Conley

He was thirteen years old when his parents came to Adams Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and settled on a farm, on which he passed his life thereafter, his occupations having been farming and teaming.
The commodious frame residence in which he resided was erected by his father, the first house having been destroyed by fire.
He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian Church. In politics he was a Republican; he took an active interest in public affairs and at different times served as township supervisor and as a member of the election board.
