General Notes: Husband - John Conkle

He came over the mountains and settled in Hickory, Washington County, Pennsylvania, about 1700. He was one of the earliest settlers in that region. He acquired a large tract of land which he cleared and cultivated successfully. He lived until the advanced age of ninety-nine years.
