General Notes: Husband - William G. Stewart

In 1831, he was sent to Georgeville, Pennsylvania, to clerk in the store which his father had opened in that village. That year will be remembered for the "laying out " of the village. He was a carpenter by trade, but generally engaged in farming. For several years he conducted a store near and in Georgeville. He also taught thirty terms of school in the Mahoning, one in Rayne, one in White, and one in Zanesville, Ohio. He served one term as county commissioner and one as county auditor. After 1848, with the exception of four years, he resided in East Mahoning township, about one mile north of Marion.
