General Notes: Husband - Alanson Ritner Day

He spent his early boyhood days in the West with his parents, and when about fifteen years of age came to Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he lived with his parents on a farm in Carroll Township. After graduating from the Homestead high school, he entered the Pittsburgh Academy, where he spent two years, then returned to the farm for a period of four years, after which he moved to Monongahela City, where he engaged in contract painting and decorating. In politics, he was a Republican and was elected alderman of the Second Ward, Monongahela City, by that party in 1907. He was fraternally a member of the I. O. O. F. and the B. P. O. E.
