Mrs. R. J. Kilgore Dies at 84, Leaves 119 Descendants
Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Kilgore, 84, widow of Robert James Kilgore, died in her home at Stonebore RD 2, at 3:15 p. m. Sunday, leaving 119 descendants, including eight sons and daughters, 33 grandchildren and 78 great grand-children.
She was born in Mercer County on Sept. 7, 1873, the daughter of Seymour J. and Elizabeth Cubbison Coleman. Mrs. Kilgore was a member of the Irwin Presbyterian Church and had been a resident of the Irwin community for 60 years. She belonged to the Women's Society of the church.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Helen Armstrong, Polk RD; Mrs. Sarah Armstrong, Stonebore RD 2; Mrs. Alice Brakeman, Polk; Mrs. Cora Burdette, Sandy Lake RD 2; William B. Kilgore and David Kilgore, Sharon; Howard Kilgore, of Franklin, and Henry Kilgore, of Mercer RD.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Irwin Presbyterian Church at 2 p. m. Wednesday and interment will be made in the Amity Cemetery. Friends may call at the McMullen Funeral Home, Sandy Lake, from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. Tuesday and at the church from noon until time of the service.
