Civil War: He enlisted in 100th Regt., the "Roundheads", August 2, 1861. He re-enlisted December 28, 1863. He served until the end of the war, having particapated in all engagements in which his regiment was engaged. He was wounded in the Battle at Spottsylvania May 12, 1864.
