General Notes: Husband - Ardesco Bright Cochran

He received an excellent education, and from his earliest youth his spare time was spent in the drug business of his father, as it was the latter's wish that this son should succeed him in the business. In the autumn of 1899 he entered the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, and was a diligent student at that institution for two years. But deciding not to follow that occupation, he, in 1891, accepted a position as a doubler in the mills of the Apollo Iron and Steel Company, and earned rapid advancement. In November of 1894 Mr. Cochran had risen to the position of a sheet roller in the mills, and in November of 1896 was transferred to the Vandergrift mills, and was one of the four rollers who operated the first rolls used when the new mills were opened.
He was a Republican in politics, and a member of the Presbyterian church. He was also a member of the following organizations: Vandergrift Lodge, No. 1116, I. O. O. F.; Apollo Lodge, No. 386, B. P. O. E.; and Vandergrift Council, No. 1751, R. A.; Vandergrift Chapter, No. 53, American Insurance Union.
