General Notes: Husband - Daniel Webster Greenawalt

He attended school in his native township, was reared on a farm, and adopted that calling for his life's work. In 1894 he began to come before the public, and was elected school director, and in 1897 and 1900 was re-elected to the same office. In 1897 he was also honored by election to the office of treasurer of the township, and after serving two terms as such was, in the autumn of 1902, elected county commissioner. He was always a very active Republican, and was recognized as one of the leaders in the party in his township. He was a popular member of the Royal Arcanum, taking a deep interest in the work of that organization. He was a consistent member of the Lutheran Church, and for over a quarter of a century was a member of its official board, serving as deacon, elder or trustee.
