General Notes: Husband - Theodore Clulow

He was reared in French Creek Township, Venango County, PA, and attended the public schools there. Later he was a student in the McElwain Institute, at New Lebanon, and spent one year at Grove City College, after which he taught school four years in Potter County, PA. Resuming his studies he entered the Northern Indiana Law School at Valparaiso, Ind., from which he was graduated in 1903. The same year he came to Franklin, PA, and began reading law with F. A. Sayers, Esq., being admitted to the bar of Venango County in May, 1906. He was later admitted to practice in the other courts of the State. His offices were in the Sheasley building at Franklin. The standing of his clients, and the class of work they intrusted to him, was evidence of his own qualities.
Mr. Clulow showed an active public spirit, and that conscientious regard for the general welfare which should be part of the equipment of every official, and after assuming office himself endeavored to put his principles into practice. In November, 1915, he was elected city councilman, on the non-partisan ticket, taking office Jan. 1, 1916; he also held the office of superintendent of the department of public safety. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and of the Royal Arcanum. [CAB, 580]
