General Notes: Husband - Joseph Gehr

He was constable of Earl township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1768 and 1770. During the Revolution he was captain of the 5th company of Col. John Huber's 9th Battalion, Lancaster County militia, in 1777, and of the 4th Company, of Lieutenant Bower's 3d Battalion, Aug. 26, 1780. He lived in Cocalico township, Lancaster County, and was a member of the Lutheran Church at Scheafferstown. In 1780, he removed to Somerset County, and later to Summit township, Crawford County, where the Gehrs purchased land from the Pennsylvania Population Company, in 1797.
