General Notes: Husband - Henry Lauffer
He was reared on the home farm in Franklin Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He received a good education in the common schools and engaged in farming, which he continued until his death. Early in life he removed to Mt. Pleasant township, where he purchased a farm containing one hundred seventy-five acres of land, which was well adapted to farming and grazing purposes. During his life there he erected a large brick dwelling house, built a good barn and made many other valuable improvements on his farm. In politics he was a Republican and a member of the Reformed church, in which he held the office of elder and deacon.
