General Notes: Husband - James Adams

He learned the shoemaker's trade and worked at it for fifteen years. He purchased the farm upon which he lived in 1861. He owned one hundred acres of good land. In digging a well, at a depth of twenty-seven feet was found a substance that had the appearance of a human jawbone petrified. On the farm were found Indian relics. On his place was one of the first carding mills in the county, which was run by oxen.
