General Notes: Husband - Reuben Chase

He was born in Rhode Island, and spent his early life in Pine Grove township, Warren county, in company with his brother William. Reuben purchased a tract of land near Russell Centre, Warren County. Throughout the active years of his long life he engaged in agricultural pursuits. He served in the War of 1812, going with his company to Sacketts Harbor, near Buffalo, New York. His military record may seem inconsistent with the fact that, like his father, he belonged to the Society of Friends, but it serves to show that he was a man of broad and liberal mind, untrammelled by prejudice or creed.
He lived to the age of eighty-eight years.
