General Notes: Husband - John B. Chaffee

He was reared here on his father's farm, enduring all the hardships of the life of a pioneer's son, and did not leave the paternal roof until he was of age. He always lived in Amity Township, Erie County, with the exception of eighteen months, 1856-57, when he resided in Illinois. He had a farm of 160 acres near Wattsburg, besides a tract of 110 acres near Hatch Hollow.
