General Notes: Husband - James Painter

From him descended Minshall and Jacob Painter, of near Lima, Delaware County, Pennslvania, who devoted themselves to researches in local and family history and botany. They planted on their estate in the middle of the 1800s, the celebrated arboretum, which contained one of the largest collections of plants of botanical interest to be found in the country.
