General Notes: Husband - Harry Vernon Couch

He was born at Parker, Pennsylvania, and was educated in Oil City, having been three or four years old when his parents returned there. When he left high school he entered the employ of the Oil City Fuel Supply Company as stenographer, in January, 1902, and filled that position for eight months, changing to similar work in the purchasing department of the National Transit Company, with which he was associated for three years in that capacity, subsequently acting as clerk in the same department until Decoration Day, 1910. His next connection was with the United Fuel Gas Company in Pittsburgh, where he was employed as accountant until January, 1914, when he came back to Oil City to become assistant purchasing agent with the National Transit Pump & Machine Company. On Feb. 8, 1918, he took a position as purchasing agent for the United Natural Gas Company at Oil City. He devoted his energies unreservedly to his responsibilities of a business nature, taking little active part in outside matters. He voted the Republican ticket, but took little part further in politics.
