He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He came to Mercer County, PA, in 1796 and settled in Perry Township.

He was a native of Germany, who settled in Perry Township, Mercer County, PA, in 1799. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary war, serving under Gen. Anthony Wayne.
