General Notes: Husband - Samuel Quay


He and his wife came from Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, and settled in Venango Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in the year 1797, locating on a farm which they cleared and improved, and where they lived and died. He lived to be eighty-three years old.
They had eight children; two died in infancy, the others lived to manhood and womanhood. [HCC 1885, 883]

He was born in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, and later removed to Crawford County, where he purchased a farm of one hundred acres. He was a Democrat, and a forceful agent in local political affairs. His religious connection was with the Methodist church. [GPHAV, 1282]
