General Notes: Husband - William Zahniser

He received a common school education which he supplemented with much private study. For a number of years he taught school in the winter, working on the farm during the summer months. At the time of his marriage he settled on a farm three miles north of the old homestead, where he resided till his death. He was possessed of a remarkable memory and was a close student of history. In his young manhood he united with the Coolspring Presbyterian Church in which he was an elder, later holding the same position in the church at Sheakleyville. In politics he was a Republican.
