General Notes: Husband - Samuel F. Stambaugh

He grew up in the vicinity of Sharon and followed farming until 1879, when he went into the milling business in the borough. He did a merchant and custom milling trade, and his mill had a capacity of eighty barrels of first-class gradual reduction flour every twenty-four hours.
He was a stanch Democrat, served two or more terms in the borough council, and was a member of the Masonic order, I. O. O. F. and N. U.

He was reared amid the scenes of rural life and educated at the common schools. His father made him the executor of his estate. He with others established the Atlantic Iron and Nail Company. In 1887 he became connected with the Sharon Mills and at the same time carried on farming, being quite successful in his operations, selling out in 1905. He then followed the coal business and was later interested in real estate deals. He was the originator of the Millers' State Mutual Insurance Company.
Politically, Mr. Stambaugh affiliated with the Democratic party. He was a member of the Odd Fellows' order and a communicant of the Baptist church, as was also his good wife.

He and his wife were the parents of six children; one was deceased before 1909.
