Mr. Walker immediately located at Butler and during the first four years of practice, was associated with his uncle, Attorney Clarence Walker, since which time he practiced alone. He enjoyed a large local practice and had admission also to the Supreme and Superior Courts of the State. He served one term as district attorney but prefers the field of private practice to one of political prominence. He was reared in the principles of the Republican party and from early manhood took a deep interest in the success of that organization. He served as chairman of the Butler County Republican committee. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Butler.

During the time Mr. Walker attended the State College he played full back position on the football team and was captain of the baseball team, playing third base. He also played football on the University of Pennsylvania varsity team for two years.
