General Notes: Husband - Dr. John Mason Patterson

He received his early education in the public schools and the high school of Washington County, Pennsylvania, following which he matriculated at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Baltimore, Maryland, from which he was graduated with the degree of Medical Doctor with the class of 1880. He began the practice of his profession at once at Lilly, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, where he remained for a period of five years. He then removed to Pittsburgh, where he practiced medicine for two years, and he then decided to go to Colorado, in which state he was located during the next nine years. Returning to his native state, he located in the mining town of Herminie, Westmoreland County, and here he remained for a period of seven years, when he removed to a location at Imperial in 1903, and there he practiced for twenty odd years with great success. Dr. Patterson was affiliated politically with the Democratic Party, to which he gave his wholehearted support. He was particularly active also in Masonic circles, taking his thirty-second degree in that ancient organization and being a member in good standing of Oakdale Lodge, No. 669, Free and Accepted Masons; McDonald Chapter of the Mount Moriah Council; Chartiers Commandery, Knights Templar, of Carnegie; Gourgas Lodge of Perfection, and Syria Temple, Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, of Pittsburgh. His family were members of the Presbyterian Church of Imperial.
