General Notes: Husband - Charles Elijah Snyder, M.D.

In the public schools of his native township he obtained his early educational privileges, and he supplemented this discipline by attending the Greensburg Seminary, where he was a student for one year, and in 1887 matriculated in Heidelberg College, one of the leading institutions maintained under the auspices of the Reformed church. He located in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio, and there he completed the prescribed course of the literary department and was graduated as a member of the class of 1891, with the degree of Bachelor of Arts. He then entered the famous Bellevue Hospital Medical College in the city of New York, where he finished a thorough course in medicine and surgery and was graduated in 1894, with the degree of Doctor of Medicine. Shortly after his graduation he located in South Greensburg, Pennsylvania, where he remained in practice until the autumn of 1896, when he removed to Greensburg, where he built up a large and representative professional business and gained recognition as one of the leading physicians and surgeons of his native county. He was a valued member of the Westmoreland County Medical Society and also the Pennsylvania State Medical Society, and was a member of the medical staff of the Westmoreland County Hospital, one of the leading institutions of the county. In 1902 he was president of the Westmoreland County Medical Society. He was a member of the Reformed church, and a Democrat in politics.
