General Notes: Husband - Jefferson C. Calhoun


His occupation was always farming. In the spring of 1878 he purchased a farm near Smicksburg, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, to which he and his family removed.

He received his education in the home schools, and resided at home until the age of twenty-seven years, being reared to the vocation of farming. At the time of his marriage he located on the W. Lindsay farm, a tract of ninety-seven acres, in West Mahoning township, Indiana County, on which he made numerous improvements, Mr. Calhoun continued to carry on general farming until 1909, in which year he removed to Indiana and settled in a home at No. 202 North street. He was a Democrat in political matters, and served as school director of West Mahoning township. With Mrs. Calhoun he attended the Presbyterian Church.
