General Notes: Husband - James McKissen

He came to a tract in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, in 1776, and made a small improvement, building a cabin and raising a crop of corn. In the autumn he was forced to flee on account of the Indians, and he returned to eastern Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Revolutionary army from Carlisle, and served till the cessation of hostilities. He was married not long after the war, and resided in Franklin County till 1790, when he returned to his former improvement.
