General Notes: Husband - John Caldwell

He was born on his father's farm, in the Juniata Valley of Pennsylvania, and was about eight years old when his father removed to Ohio. The farm then settled was owned by him as the only surviving child, and he resided thereon all his life. In his eighties he was yet a hale and hearty man, a devout Methodist, and was esteemed one of the fathers in the church in which he worshipped. Although well along in years, he still looked after the working of his farm, and was well posted on the current events of the day. He raised a large family, all of whom set up for themselves, and he was just where he started more than fifty years before,-only himself and wife, she being thirteen years his junior in age.
