General Notes: Husband - James Speer


He lived and died on the old homestead in Peters Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He was a Republican, and a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Mt. Prospect.

The home farm contained 127 acres of excellent land, on which oil was found in paying quantities.


General Notes: Wife - Maria Calahan


Her mother died when she was just five years of age, and she went to live with John Rankin, a farmer of Washington County, Pennsylvania, where she remained until her marriage.
