During the Depression he and his wife lived with their daughter Millie (Wilson) Moren.

Myrtle (Wilson) Snarey remembers when her grandparents (William and Elizabeth Wilson) lived on a houseboat that was on dry land. William loved parades. He was very patriotic. He went all out on 4th of July. He had a wacky and fun sense of humor!
