General Notes: Husband - John T. Burnside

He obtained a common school education in Chartiers Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He lived on the old family homestead and devoted himself to agricultural pursuits. In addition to general farming and dairying, for some years he was engaged in breeding registered Holstein cattle and his herds of from thirty to forty head show that he met with success. He did quite a large business in putting stock on the market. The farm was well improved, the buildings having been erected by his father.
