General Notes: Husband - James Hood

He was educated in the old-fashioned log schoolhouse of the day, and began to learn the trade of a tanner at an early age, but owing to failing health was compelled to abandon that business.
After his marriage he worked for some time at his trade, and then located on the farm near Murdocksville, Hanover township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he successfully followed agricultural pursuits until his death.
He was one of the leading members of the Hopewell Church, serving as an elder for some time.
