General Notes: Husband - Jacob Brinker

He married and came to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, about 1750. He settled in Franklin, later Penn township, in the Penns' Manor of Denmark.

He and his wife emigrated from Germany, and settled in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. They moved westward, and located upon the farm in Westmoreland County when most of it was a wilderness and the country was chiefly inhabited by Indians.

He emigrated from Switzerland to America where he located in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, and engaged in the flouring-mill business. He furnished the Revolutionary army with flour for which he was never paid. In 1792 he removed to near the site of Manor station, Westmoreland County, where he took up a body of land, besides six hundred acres of land in another portion of the township. He had five children: Henry and George who received the six hundred acre tract between them; Jacob, who inherited the Manor land; Abraham, who received a tract of his father's Kentucky land; and Susan. [BHCWC, 429]

He is supposed to have been born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The earliest record of him is his will, recorded November 16, 1798, by which instrument it appears he was the father of a large family and that he was possessed of about fifteen hundred acres of land, much of it located in what was then styled the "Opost Settlement," Franklin township, Westmoreland County.
