General Notes: Wife - Lydia Bumpas

No record of Lydia's parentage is found. Proof of her parentage is in her father's will.

Lydia was married a second time to Ebenezer King, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, the school master at Wareham, Massachusetts. According to Church records, Nathan was a wandering husband who returned now and then. Lydia became interested in the school teacher and "married him as she sat, but the church looking into the matter found she had applied for a divorce which was refused, the time limit for an absentee had not expired. The church reprimanded her and the teacher lost his job, the matter was taken up by the church at Plymton. When the time expired and her husband had not reappeared, she made her confession and she and Ebenezer King were married and the teacher restored to the school.
