General Notes: Husband - William Patterson

When a young man he taught school for a while, and was as successful in that vocation as he was in farming, in which he was engaged since the date of his marriage. He bought his homestead in 1852 and resided there for over forty-five years.
He was a Democrat in respect to his politics, and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Mt. Jackson, North Beaver township. He served his township as supervisor and as assessor.
