General Notes: Husband - John Weaver

His father was one of the pioneers of Centre County, Pennsylvania, coming from southern Pennsylvania to Brush Valley in the latter part of the eighteenth century. He was a farmer, and reared a large family, several of whom died in Brush Valley, others were scattered over the West.

He was a native of York County, Pennsylvania, and settled in Brush valley in 1801 or 1802. He bought a tract of land from a Mr. Stout, and from other parties at a later date. He built a distillery some time between the years 1808 and 1811; it was situated west of Wolf's mill a few rods.

He was a distiller and farmer by occupation, and was very successful in his business ventures, owning three valuable farms. He was a man of about five feet, eleven inches in height, very robust in his younger days, and at the time of his death, which occurred when he had reached the advanced age of ninety years, he was still well preserved, retaining his vitality to a remarkable degree. He and his wife held membership in the Reformed Church, and in politics he was a Democrat.

The wording of the source [CBRCP:CCJC, 295] suggests that he died before his second wife. If he died at age ninety, and she at age seventy-seven, he must have been much older than her.

General Notes: Wife - Mary "Polly" Brungart

She died at the age of seventy-seven.
