General Notes: Husband - Jacob Brungart

When just a boy he moved with his parents to Brush Valley, Centre County, PA, where he was reared. He owned and cultivated the family homestead and was one of the successful farmers of his day. In 1813 he was drafted; but being so situated that he could not enter the army without great sacrifice, he hired William P. Brady, of Aaronsburg, as a substitute, giving him $60 and a pair of shoes.
