General Notes: Husband - Joseph Miller Fulton


He early took to the business of merchandising, clerked in the store of Haines & Ireland at Brick Meeting House, Maryland.
In 1863 he engaged in store-keeping at Hilamans, later Chrome, East Nottingham. From that place he went to Brick Meeting house, Maryland, and entered into partnership with John M. Ireland in the general merchandise business. In 1867 he established a drug store at New London, Chester County, Pennsylvania, which he conducted for a period of over twenty years to the time of his decease.
Entered the army in 1863, and served in Company C, 29th Regiment of Pennsylvania Militia.
He studied pharmacy, and was graduated from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. He was a Past Master of New London Lodge of F. and A. M. He was Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, and an elder of the New London Presbyterian Church, and for a time was superintendent of the Sabbath School.
He was a man of great liberality, kind to the poor, and generous to a fault.
