General Notes: Husband - Samuel M. Brown

He obtained a fair education in Mill Creek Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, and Erie City. He served the people of his township as Assessor, Road Commissioner and School Director, and was in an early day Lieutenant of the State Militia. He was an active element among the Whigs and later bent his efforts with the Republican party. He early identified with the Lutheran Church, and died in full triumph of the same. The history of his life can be told in three words, "an honest man."
