General Notes: Husband - James Newton Maharg

---

He was reared and educated in his native township and always devoted his attention to farming. He had 120 acres of his land under cul­tivation and his crops included corn, oats, wheat, hay and potatoes. There were oil wells drilled on the farm. His handsome brick residence is a land­mark in the township.
His family belonged to the Middlesex Presbyterian Church, in which he was an elder. He took a great interest in the Sunday-school and served as its superintendent. In politics, Mr. Maharg was an active Re­publican and served as township auditor and as both treasurer and clerk.
