General Notes: Husband - John Brown


He was of Scotch-Irish descent, he emigrating from Ireland to America. He was a strict Presbyterian in religion, being for many years superintendent of the Presbyterian Sunday school, and all of his sons becoming elders in the church.

When about twenty-three years of age he emigrated to America, becoming a school-teacher at Lewistown and McVeytown, Pennsylvania. He married and after teaching in Mifflin County until 1835, he became a citizen of Henderson township, Huntingdon County, living near the Union school-house. He died from injuries received from falling in his barn; he left a family of eight children.
